About Bildungsconsulting Weingarten
Bildungsconsulting Weingarten is an independent educational consultancy for internationally mobile families. We advise students applying to selective undergraduate programmes in the United States, the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Asia — from choosing a field of study and building a balanced university list to shaping an application that reads as one coherent story.
Our consultants have spent more than a decade in international schools and university admissions. We know how the IB, A-Levels, the German Abitur and the U.S. high school diploma are read by admissions officers in different countries, and we turn that into practical decisions: which tests to sit, which deadlines actually matter, and how an international upbringing can be presented as a strength rather than a complication.
We work to the professional standards common to independent educational consulting: we do not write essays for students, we do not promise admission to any particular university, and we advise in the interest of the student rather than of an institution.
How we work
The first conversation is about the student, not about universities: what they are studying now, what they are good at, what they actually enjoy, and what the family can realistically fund. From that we build a list that has genuine range — places where the student is a strong candidate alongside places that are a stretch — and a calendar that holds the deadlines of every country on the list.
From there the work is practical. Essays are the student’s own: we ask questions, read drafts and push for specifics, but we do not write them. Testing plans, activity lists and school documents are prepared in the order the deadlines demand. Once offers arrive we go through them line by line — costs, conditions, waitlists and deferrals included — and stay reachable through the move itself, which is usually the part nobody has planned for.
